I enjoy a good afternoon latte. Especially on a rainy afternoon when you just don’t want to get out of the house. And today is one of those days. The temperature outside is cool, the rain is lightly falling and the coffee is calling.
Not just any coffee, but a good homemade Italian Cream Latte. It is hard to beat a good afternoon latte on days like this. When I say homemade, I make my lattes without any fancy equipment. For a casual coffee drinker, I find them quite enjoyable.
Italian Cream Latte
To enjoy a good Italian Cream Latte, you first of all have to have a taste bud on the sweet side. They are delightfully sweet, rich and delicious.
Like I said, you don’t have to have any fancy equipment. All I use is a kitchen strainer and a jar with lid to shake the creamer. I use a slow brew method by placing my filter in the strainer then putting in the coffee. Slowly pour over some hot water (near boiling) letting it seep into the cup.
Heat the creamer in the microwave then put the lid on the jar and shake, and shake and shake a bit more. Take the top off and slowly pour it into your coffee cup.
A Latte to Drink and Enjoy
That’s all there is to it. Now you can enjoy a good homemade Italian Cream Latte without any fancy equipment any time you want.
One thing I do suggest is that you use a good quality, freshly roasted bean that you grind yourself. The bean I used today for my latte came from Voyage Coffee Roasters. Their beans are always fresh with great flavors and intrigue.
